This newly renovated winery is located near the famous Káli Basin, close to Lake Balaton. Monoszló is a charming historic village, rich in traditional Hungarian architecture. The estate, with its old wine cellar and carefully restored historic building, has opened its doors as a wine terrace with a restaurant and guest rooms.

We had the pleasure of creating the garden’s concept design and detailed planting plans. The client gave us complete creative freedom, with just one request: to design a lush, biodiverse garden that captures a Mediterranean atmosphere while harmonising with the traditional Hungarian architecture.
The task was made easier by the beautiful setting — the historic building and the mature trees already gave the garden strong foundations.

The project was a collaboration with Florana Nursery, who supplied all the plants. We planted them together on site, adding thousands of perennials and shrubs so far. The transformation is still in progress — about half of the garden will be planted in the next season, continuing to grow into its full beauty.
