We joined this kindergarten extension and redesign project after MOME and Qvarta Studio carried out research and held workshops with the Municipality of Józsefváros, involving teachers, parents, and children in discussions about kindergarten improvements.
By the time we became involved, Qvarta Studio had already completed the concept design, so our role was to prepare the technical design for the garden and enrich it with as much naturalistic planting as possible.

The kindergarten is enclosed by tall block buildings, but fortunately, the site was already home to many mature trees. The play equipment—both new and renovated—occupies the central area, surrounded by a circular track where children can race on toy motorcycles. Around this lively core, lush planting embraces the space, shielding the little ones from the noise of the city.

Our planting design aimed to create a biodiverse environment, offering city children the chance to experience and explore the wonders of nature.
