This pocket park grew from a local community initiative to protect a rare green oasis in the city centre, home to mature trees and diverse urban wildlife. Concerned about future development, residents successfully petitioned the municipality to preserve part of the site as a public micropark.

The concept and master plan were created by the architecture firm Archabit, while we developed the planting concept and detailed plans with the goal of creating a resilient, wildlife-friendly park.

The planting uses mainly native species to support pollinators, birds, and other wildlife, with layered vegetation for shelter and nesting. Inspired by wildflower meadows, it offers year-round colour, movement, and seasonal change, while remaining low-maintenance. Natural boulders, carved into bird baths, provide water for wildlife and invite visitors to enjoy moments of nature up close.
